What is your Creative Outlet?

What is your creative outlet? Is it knitting? Is it painting? Is it making jewellery and beading?

.

If the pandemic has taught us anything, I think it’s that we all need a creative outlet of some sort. Something to ground us, to take our mind to another place, to make us feel balanced.

.

If you weren’t a “naturally creative” person before, it doesn’t mean you can’t become one or someone who appreciates creativity. Think about it : you can be a person of average build but if you train your body daily - say to run a marathon - you become a marathoner. So think about it - you may not be a painter today, but if you aimed to work on a painting for 30-minutes daily, eventually you’ll become a painter.

Thinking of how to start your creative journey? Try these tips :

Become a writer : Simply write one poem, haiku, or short mantra daily. Eventually move on to longer pieces - like a short story or a blog post. Hello Writer!

Become a dancer : take a 30-minute freestyle dance break for movement each day. Then maybe, sign up for a lesson or two ... or maybe practice a choreographed routine from YouTube. Hello Sweetfeet!

Become a Sewist : Start with some simple easy-sew hand sewing projects. Then move to easy 30-minute sewing projects on a machine. Maybe take a lesson to learn how to understand patterns. Hello Fashion Mogul!!!
